We have to start with a salute to the “Phyllis” of Phyllis Records. The inspiration for this effort and the touchstone for all of our efforts here at Phyllis. Here’s to Phyllis Reid, who at 78 years old was still frequenting Brownies, CBGB’s and Siné, with a scotch in hand and few choice words for the musicians.

We, like Phyllis, love music and musicians. Just our luck that so many folks in Silverlake, California do too. A local and very grassroots operation, Phyllis was created in the Fall of 2006 to help select local artists navigate the ever more complicated music industry. We look for the artists that defy genres and lead with their passion, ditching the perennial search for the radio hit and creating personal and powerful music that connects with their audiences.
